Automotive Alternator Regulator / RLO

It is a multifunction alternator voltage regulator for use in automotive application. It allows keeping
the battery at its nominal charge and delivering current to electrical devices within the vehicle.

To temporarily manage the important alternator output current variation and limit torque variation,
it provides a load response control mechanism (LRC). It can be controlled by ECU via the L terminal
interface. The RLO/C line from the engine control unit (ECU) via RLO/C protocol to the regulator is
used to active the regulator and to communicate the desired set-point voltage.

  • RLO and C-Terminal PWM interface
  • Initial Soft Start function
  • Self-Start function
  • FR output
  • Load Response Control (LRC ) for low transition at RPM
  • Capable of regulating voltage within ±0.2 V @ 25°C
  • High side field driver control
  • Load Dump protection
  • Field short protection
  • Thermal shutdown protection
  • < 0.5 mA standby current from battery @ 25°C
